March 11th Photo info

It's About Light:
1. What can lighting conditions at noon do to a photo of a person?
Well if you shot photos at noon you would get highlights on a picture that are too bright and shadows that are too dark.
2. What are "golden hours" for sunlight?
Golden hours or magic hours are and hour or two after sunrise and an hour or two before sunset.
3. List three examples of why light is more interesting during the "golden hours".
  • the light is directional, it emphasizes many things such as shape and texture.
  • light has a warmer more attractive color.
  • the light quality is softer and it produces shadows and highlights that aren't too dark or too bright.
4. How can cloud cover effect a photograph?
Cloud cover can effect a photograph by blocking and diffusing the sun.
5. Explain why the two photos taken at 5:18pm are different, and what makes one more interesting then the other?
The two photos are different because the person who took the photo took it during magic hours and the person fought against the light. I find the first one taken to be more interesting because the shadows are so crisp and you can tell where the sun is shining from.
